Gabriel Bethune's creative sound and AV design has these recordings coming from various speakers around the stage, as if we are sitting with these people and being part of the conversation. And that's what Rebel does so well.

The Idea |
    The show was driven by recorded interviews the playwright took with Environmental Activists around Australia. Being an avid hiker and wanting to create a cosy environment to reflect the way the interviews were conducted, I took recordings of native Australian Birds and sprinkled them into the background of the audio. 

Application |
    The David Li Sound Gallery and Monash is equipped with the Meyer Sound Constallation System, giving us unique control over our audio system. Utilising the system allowed us to give a surround experience that placed the audience amongst the environment that the interviews took place. Creative use of Bluetooth speakers put the voices of these interviewees in everyday objects.
